Google to Construct Data Center in Singapore

Google announced the establishment of a new data center in Singapore on 15 December, 2011, according to a report by Channel NewsAsia Singapore. Construction of the 2.45-hectare data center is slated for completion by early 2013. It is reported that the new data center is valued at approximately US$120 million and will be the third of its kind in Asia, joining two others that will be launched in Hong Kong and Taiwan. The Hong Kong center is estimated at around US$300 million and the Taiwan center at US$100 million. With the establishment of the three data centers, Google aims to provide its users in Asia with faster and more reliable services.
